Terms of Service
Last updated: October 12, 2026
These Terms of Service ("Terms") are a binding agreement between you and the provider of Planr (see Section 1) and govern your use of the Planr mobile apps for iOS and Android, the web app at app.getplanr.app, public pages such as shared trips and shared albums, and any related services (together, "Planr" or the "Service"). By creating an account, continuing as a guest, or otherwise using Planr, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use Planr.
The short version (not a substitute for the full Terms):
- You own what you upload. You are responsible for it, and for having the right to share it, especially photos of other people.
- Planr is a planning tool. Check every flight, booking, opening time, visa, health and safety detail yourself, especially anything suggested by AI.
- Keep your own copies of photos and documents that matter to you. Planr is not a backup service.
- Purchases are handled by Apple, Google or Stripe. Digital purchases start immediately, so the 14-day withdrawal right ends once you use them, as explained below.
- Your mandatory rights as a consumer are never affected by anything in these Terms.
1. Who We Are
Planr is developed and operated by André Ferreira, an individual developer based in Portugal, trading as "Planr" / "CodeByAndre" ("we", "us", "our"). You can contact us at support@getplanr.app.
2. Eligibility
- You must be at least 13 years old to use Planr. If you are under 18 (or the age of majority where you live), you may only use Planr with the involvement and permission of a parent or legal guardian, who accepts these Terms on your behalf.
- Purchases (subscriptions, Extra Luggage, eSIMs) may only be made by adults or with the consent of a parent or legal guardian.
- You must not use Planr if you have previously been banned from it or if using it would break the law where you live.
3. Your Account and Guest Mode
You can sign in with email, Google or Apple, or try Planr as a guest. You are responsible for:
- Providing accurate information and keeping your sign-in credentials confidential
- All activity that happens under your account
- Telling us promptly at support@getplanr.app if you suspect unauthorised use of your account
Guest mode: a guest account is tied to the device or browser where it was created. If you sign out, uninstall the app, clear your browser data or lose the device before linking the guest account to a sign-in method, your data may be permanently lost and we will not be able to recover it.
4. What Planr Is (and Is Not)
Planr is a tool to organise trips: itineraries, activities, flights, accommodation, packing lists, budgets and expenses, chat, location sharing, a shared photo album and related features. Planr is not a travel agency, tour operator, airline, booking platform, financial service or emergency service. In particular:
- We do not sell or guarantee travel. Links to third parties (e.g. flight, hotel or accommodation search sites) are provided for convenience only. Any booking you make is a contract between you and that third party, under its own terms.
- Information may be inaccurate. Flight details, opening hours, addresses, maps, routes, weather forecasts, currency conversions, place information and other data come from you, from other trip members or from third-party sources, and may be incomplete, outdated or wrong. Always confirm important information with the airline, provider or official source before relying on it.
- Reminders and notifications may fail. Push notifications and reminders (e.g. for check-in or departure) depend on your device, operating system and third-party services. Never rely on Planr as your only reminder for anything time-critical.
- Expenses and splits are informational. Planr helps you keep track of shared expenses, but it does not move money, and balances shown in the app are not a legally binding statement of debt. Settling up between members is entirely your and their responsibility.
- Location features are not a safety device. Live location sharing and auto check-in may be delayed, inaccurate or unavailable. Do not rely on Planr for personal safety or emergencies; contact local emergency services (112 in the EU) if you need help.
- Travel requirements are your responsibility. Passports, visas, vaccinations, insurance, entry rules, local laws and your own safety are always your responsibility.
5. AI Features
Planr offers features powered by third-party artificial intelligence models, such as AI-generated itineraries and suggestions. When you use them, the information needed to answer your request (e.g. destination, dates, interests, pace, budget and places to visit) is sent to our AI provider, as described in the Privacy Policy.
- AI output is generated automatically, is provided as a suggestion only, and may be inaccurate, incomplete, outdated or unsuitable. It may, for example, suggest places that are closed, no longer exist, are unsafe, or are farther apart than indicated.
- You are solely responsible for reviewing and verifying AI output before acting on it. AI content is not professional advice of any kind (travel, legal, medical, financial or safety).
- Do not enter sensitive personal information (e.g. health information or ID numbers) into AI features.
- Usage limits apply depending on your plan, and we may apply reasonable fair-use limits to prevent abuse.
6. Shared Trips, Chat and Group Features
- When you invite someone to a trip, they can view and, depending on their role, edit the trip's content, including itineraries, expenses, packing lists, chat and the album. Only invite people you trust.
- You are responsible for the information you add to shared trips and for having the right to share it, including other people's personal data (names, flight details, photos, etc.).
- Content you add to a shared trip may remain visible to the other members even if you leave the trip or delete your account (for example, messages you sent in the chat, expenses you recorded, or photos you added to the album).
- If the trip owner deletes the trip or their account, the trip and its content (including the album) may be permanently deleted for all members, unless another member was made a co-owner beforehand. If you want to keep a trip, ask its owner to make you a co-owner and keep your own copies of anything important.
- We are not a party to, and are not responsible for, disputes between trip members (for example about expenses, plans, or content shared in the trip).
7. Public Links
Some features let you create a link that anyone can open without a Planr account, such as a public trip page, a live location link or a shared album link. Anyone who has the link (including people it is forwarded to) can see the content behind it, and may be able to download it.
- Only share public links with people you trust. We cannot control who a link is forwarded to, nor what people do with content they view or download through it.
- Shared album links do not expire automatically. They stay active until the album or trip is deleted, or until the link is disabled where the app offers that option.
- Live location links stay active only while location sharing is on.
8. Your Content
"Your Content" means anything you create, upload or share in Planr, including trips, notes, messages, voice notes, photos, videos and profile information.
- You keep ownership of Your Content. We do not claim any ownership rights over it.
- Licence to us: you grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, store, copy, process, transmit, resize, transcode (e.g. create thumbnails and previews), compress into ZIP downloads and display Your Content, only as necessary to operate, secure and improve the Service and to show it to the people you share it with (including via public links you create). This licence ends when Your Content is deleted from our systems, except for content that you shared with others and that they still keep, and for residual copies in backups, which are deleted over time.
- Your promises: you confirm that you own or have all necessary rights and permissions to upload and share Your Content, including the consent of any identifiable person shown in photos, videos or voice notes, and that Your Content does not infringe any third party's rights or any law.
- No obligation to monitor: we do not review content before it is uploaded and are not responsible for content posted by users. We may, however, review, restrict access to or remove content that we reasonably believe breaks these Terms or the law, or that has been reported to us (see Section 10).
- Keep your own copies. Planr is not a backup or archive service. Although we take reasonable care, data can be lost (e.g. due to technical failures, account deletion, trip deletion by its owner, or the end of the Service). You are responsible for keeping copies of anything you cannot afford to lose.
9. Acceptable Use
You agree to use Planr only for lawful, personal, non-commercial travel planning purposes. You must not:
- Upload or share content that is illegal, sexually explicit, involves minors in any inappropriate way, is hateful, harassing, threatening, violent, defamatory, or infringes privacy, copyright, trademark or other rights
- Upload photos, videos or recordings of people without their consent where consent is required, or use location sharing to track anyone without their knowledge and consent
- Use Planr, including the album and its public links, as a general file-hosting or content-distribution service, or to store content unrelated to your trips
- Send spam, scams, phishing or unsolicited invitations or messages
- Upload malware or anything designed to harm devices, networks or data
- Attempt to gain unauthorised access to the Service, other accounts or data, probe or bypass security, usage limits or payment checks, or interfere with the Service's operation
- Scrape, crawl or extract data from Planr by automated means, or overload our infrastructure
- Reverse engineer, decompile, copy, resell or create derivative works of the app, except where the law expressly allows it
- Impersonate another person or misrepresent your relationship with anyone
- Use AI features to generate unlawful, harmful or misleading content, or in breach of our AI providers' usage policies
10. Reporting Content and Copyright Complaints
If you believe any content on Planr (including on a public link) is illegal, infringes your rights (e.g. copyright or your image) or breaks these Terms, email support@getplanr.app with the subject "Content report" and include: the link or a description that lets us locate the content; why you believe it is illegal or infringing; your name and email address (unless the report concerns child sexual abuse material, where you may stay anonymous); and a statement that the information is accurate and complete to the best of your knowledge.
We will review reports diligently and may remove or disable access to content, suspend public links or accounts, and, where required, inform the competent authorities. Where we restrict content, we will inform the affected user and explain why, unless the law or safety reasons prevent it. You may contest our decision by replying to that message. We may ignore reports that are clearly unfounded or abusive.
11. Plans, Prices and Payments
Planr offers a free plan (Economy) and paid products. The features, limits and prices of each product are shown in the app before purchase, and the price shown at checkout (including VAT where applicable) is the one that applies. Prices may vary by country, currency, store and promotions. At the date of these Terms:
- First Class (subscription): unlocks premium features as described in the app (currently including unlimited AI itineraries), for €2.99/month or €24.99/year.
- Extra Luggage (one-time purchase per trip): unlocks the shared photo and video album for one trip, for €14.99. See Section 12.
- Travel eSIM (one-time purchase): mobile data for your destination, at the price shown for each plan. See Section 13.
Payments are processed by Apple (App Store), Google (Google Play) or Stripe (web), and are subject to their terms. We do not receive or store your full card details. Purchases made in one store may not be manageable or refundable in another.
Subscriptions:
- Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period, at the then-current price, unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.
- You can cancel at any time in your App Store or Google Play subscription settings, or in the Stripe customer portal (web) available from your profile. Deleting the app or your account does not cancel a store subscription.
- After cancelling, you keep access until the end of the paid period. Except where required by law or the store's policy, no refunds or credits are given for partial periods or unused features.
- If we change subscription prices, we will tell you in advance; the new price applies from your next renewal, and you can cancel before it takes effect. Store subscriptions may also require your confirmation under the store's rules.
- Free trials and promotional or gifted access (including access granted by us manually) may be limited in time, are subject to the conditions stated when offered, and may be ended by us at any time.
Refunds: refunds for in-app purchases are decided by Apple or Google under their own policies; please request them through the store. For web purchases, contact support@getplanr.app. Nothing in this section limits your statutory rights, including your rights if a digital product does not work as described.
12. Extra Luggage (Shared Album)
- Extra Luggage is a one-time purchase that unlocks the shared album for one specific trip. It is not a subscription and does not transfer to other trips. Once unlocked, all members of that trip can use the album.
- The album is subject to usage limits per trip, shown in the app (currently up to 1,500 photos, 60 minutes of video in total, up to 3 minutes per video, and 8 GB of storage). We may set reasonable additional limits to protect the Service (e.g. on file types, file size or number of requests).
- Photos and videos may be resized, compressed or converted for previews and downloads. We do not guarantee that original files will be kept in their original quality or metadata.
- The album stays available for as long as the trip exists and the Service is operating. If the trip is deleted (including when its owner deletes their account), the album and its content are permanently deleted for everyone, and the purchase is not refunded.
- If we ever decide to discontinue the album feature or the Service, we will give at least 60 days' notice through the app or by email, so you can download your photos and videos.
- We may remove content or restrict an album or its public link if it breaks these Terms or the law, without refund where the breach is yours.
13. Travel eSIM
Planr lets you purchase a mobile data eSIM for a trip's destination, provided in partnership with eSIM Access and its partner mobile networks. By purchasing an eSIM through Planr, you acknowledge and agree that:
- The connectivity is provided by third parties. Planr facilitates the purchase and delivery; network coverage, speed and availability are provided by eSIM Access and the mobile networks in the destination, which are outside our control and are not guaranteed.
- "Unlimited" plans are subject to fair usage. They include a daily high-speed allowance, after which speed may be reduced for the rest of that day, in line with standard industry practice.
- Device compatibility is your responsibility. You must confirm that your device supports eSIM and is carrier-unlocked before purchasing. We are not responsible for purchases made for incompatible or locked devices.
- Keep your activation details private. The QR code / activation link is like a key: anyone who has it may be able to install the eSIM. We are not responsible for losses if you share it.
- Validity: each eSIM has a validity period and data allowance set by the plan. Unused data or days are not refundable or transferable once the eSIM has been provisioned.
- Failed orders: if an eSIM fails to provision because of a technical or provider-side problem, you will be refunded or provided with a working replacement. In other cases (e.g. not using the eSIM, wrong destination or duration chosen, device incompatibility), refunds are at our discretion, without prejudice to your statutory rights.
- Each eSIM is tied to the device it is installed on and cannot be moved to another person or device once installed.
14. Right of Withdrawal (EU/EEA and UK Consumers)
If you are a consumer in the EU, EEA or UK, you generally have the right to withdraw from an online contract within 14 days without giving a reason. For in-app purchases, withdrawal requests are handled by Apple or Google under their procedures. Because all Planr paid products are digital content or digital services supplied immediately, the following applies:
- First Class: by starting your subscription, you expressly request that the service begins immediately during the withdrawal period. If you withdraw within 14 days, you may be charged a proportional amount for the service provided until you withdraw, unless the store's policy provides otherwise.
- Extra Luggage: by completing the purchase, you expressly request immediate unlocking of the album and acknowledge that you lose your right of withdrawal once the album has been unlocked for the trip.
- Travel eSIMs: by completing the purchase, you expressly request immediate supply and acknowledge that you lose your right of withdrawal once the eSIM has been provisioned and made available to you. Failed orders are handled as described in Section 13.
To exercise a withdrawal right that applies to a web purchase, email support@getplanr.app with a clear statement of your decision. This section does not affect your legal rights if a product is not supplied or does not conform to what was agreed.
15. Third-Party Services
Planr relies on and links to third-party services, such as Apple, Google, Firebase, Stripe, Cloudflare, Mapbox, Google Maps, OpenStreetMap, Open-Meteo, AI providers and eSIM Access, as well as booking and search sites. Their services are governed by their own terms and privacy policies. We are not responsible for third-party services, content, availability or changes, and their inclusion does not mean we endorse them. Map data and weather data are provided by their respective providers and are subject to their attributions and licences.
16. Service Availability and Changes
We work hard to keep Planr reliable, but as a small independent service we cannot guarantee that it will always be available, uninterrupted, secure or error-free, or that data will never be lost. We may update, change, limit or discontinue features (including free features and usage limits) to improve the Service, for security or legal reasons, or because a third-party provider changes or stops its service. If a change materially reduces a paid product you have already paid for, we will tell you in advance and you may be entitled to a proportional refund or to cancel, as provided by law. You may need to install updates to keep using Planr.
17. Suspension and Termination
- You may stop using Planr and delete your account at any time in the app's account settings. Deleting your account does not cancel store subscriptions; cancel those in the App Store or Google Play first.
- We may suspend or terminate your account, remove content, or restrict features (including public links and purchases) if you seriously or repeatedly break these Terms, if required by law, if needed to protect other users, third parties or the Service, or in case of fraud or payment chargebacks. Where reasonable, we will warn you first and explain the reason.
- If we terminate your account for a serious breach by you, you are not entitled to a refund for remaining paid periods or purchases, except where the law requires it. If we end the Service or your account without fault on your part, we will refund the unused part of any prepaid subscription.
- After termination, your data is handled as described in the Privacy Policy. Sections 8 (licence for content shared with others), 18, 19, 20, 21 and 23 survive termination.
18. Intellectual Property
Planr, including its software, design, logos, name, texts, icons and other content (excluding Your Content and third-party content), belongs to us or our licensors and is protected by intellectual property laws. We grant you a personal, limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the apps and the Service in accordance with these Terms. No other rights are granted. If you send us feedback or suggestions, we may use them freely and without any obligation to you.
19. Disclaimer
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Planr is provided "as is" and "as available". Except as expressly stated in these Terms and without prejudice to your statutory rights as a consumer (including the legal guarantee of conformity for digital content and services), we make no promises or warranties, express or implied, about the Service, including its accuracy, reliability, availability, fitness for a particular purpose, or that it will meet your requirements.
20. Limitation of Liability
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, for wilful misconduct (dolo) or gross negligence (culpa grave), or any other liability that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law, including mandatory consumer protection law.
Subject to the paragraph above, and to the maximum extent permitted by law:
- We are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for loss of profits, business, opportunity, goodwill or data, that were not reasonably foreseeable when you started using the Service.
- We are not liable for losses arising from: missed, cancelled or changed flights, bookings, connections or activities; incorrect or outdated information (including AI-generated content, maps, weather, opening hours or flight data); notifications or reminders that were delayed or not received; location features being inaccurate or unavailable; loss of mobile connectivity; content uploaded or shared by other users or third parties; your sharing of public links or eSIM activation details; disputes between trip members; or the acts or omissions of third-party providers.
- Our total liability to you for all claims relating to the Service is limited to the greater of (a) the total amount you paid us for the Service in the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim, or (b) €50.
21. Indemnity
To the extent permitted by law, you agree to compensate us for any claims, losses, damages and reasonable costs (including legal fees) made against us or incurred by us by a third party because of Your Content, your misuse of the Service, or your breach of these Terms or of any third party's rights (for example, someone claiming that a photo you uploaded or a public link you shared infringed their image or privacy rights). This does not apply to the extent the loss was caused by us.
22. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms to reflect changes to Planr, the law or our business. We will post the new version on this page and update the date above. For significant changes that affect your rights, we will notify you in the app or by email at least 15 days before they take effect, unless a shorter period is required for legal or security reasons. If you do not agree with the changes, you may stop using Planr and delete your account before they take effect; if you continue to use Planr after they take effect, the updated Terms will apply.
23. Governing Law, Complaints and Disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of Portugal. If you are a consumer, you also benefit from any mandatory provisions of the law of the country where you live, and you may bring proceedings in the courts of your country of residence or in Portugal. If you are not a consumer, the courts of Portugal have exclusive jurisdiction.
If you have a complaint, please contact us first at support@getplanr.app; we will try to resolve it quickly and amicably. Consumers may also use an alternative dispute resolution entity. In Portugal, you may contact the CNIACC – Centro Nacional de Informação e Arbitragem de Conflitos de Consumo (www.cniacc.pt), and further information is available on the Portal do Consumidor (www.consumidor.gov.pt). You may also submit a complaint through the electronic complaints book (Livro de Reclamações Eletrónico).
24. General
- Entire agreement: these Terms, together with the Privacy Policy and any conditions shown at the time of a purchase, are the entire agreement between you and us about Planr.
- App stores: if you downloaded Planr from the App Store or Google Play, these Terms are between you and us, not Apple or Google, who have no responsibility for the app or its content. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms for iOS users and may enforce them. In case of conflict with Apple's Standard EULA, these Terms prevail to the extent permitted.
- Severability: if any part of these Terms is found invalid or unenforceable, the rest remains in effect.
- No waiver: if we do not enforce a right immediately, that does not mean we have waived it.
- Transfer: we may transfer our rights and obligations under these Terms to another entity (for example, a company we set up to run Planr, or a buyer of the Service), provided that this does not reduce your rights. We will tell you if this happens. You may not transfer your account or rights to anyone else.
- Language: these Terms are written in English. If we provide a translation, the English version prevails in case of conflict, except where the law requires otherwise.
